Brush Strokes Magazine

Series of 38 framed inkjet prints on magazine paper, intervention on each print, 20 x 27 cm each page, 2012.

ENG – Brush Strokes Magazine examine the rythm produced by the action of turning one page after the other while going through a magazine. I have reproduced — without the text but keeping the original lay out— the pages of a magazine that shows views of art exhibitions. I have brushed the pages on the location of each art work depicted in the views. There is no added paint, the brush is applied directly on the ink that prints the images before it actually dries. With that work art is removed through an artistic gesture.

NL – «Meer beeld en minder concept is het werk waarbij hij uit tentoonstellingsfoto’s de kunstwerken afgeplakt heeft en vervolgens de inkt uit de printer heeft laten vegen. Doordat het geen handeling is op de print maar in feite dus in de print zelf levert dat een heel opmerkelijk effect op die zowel als concept werkt (de kunst wordt weggehaald en er komt een kunstige handeling voor in de plaats), maar beeldend een opmerkelijk resultaat oplevert.»
