A PERSONAL ANTHOLOGY OF MEDIATIC IMAGES
Folded Laser Prints, framed with plywood (artist frame),
7 images, various sizes and arrangement. The total size of installation is about 4x4 meters on the wall.
I have interviewed people, asking them to describe me a photograph they had seen in a newspaper. Following their written descriptions, I have recreated these photographs through Studio techniques. Their descriptions are so subjective that I wasn’t able to find myself what was the original topic of the photograph. This images are like leftovers of the memory of a newspaper reader, then reinterpreted again by myself. The style, the aesthetic of these images are based on my visual knowledge of the work of other photographers. One might recognise a lookalike image from Thomas Struth, Jeff Wall, or other generic style of images of today. The prints are presented with folds, dividing them and as if crossed.
